Gosford Bay, East lothian is a long sandy and rocky beach with rock pools to explore is close to nature reserves and there are a lot of birds to be seen feeding when the tide is out. Coastal grassland with colourful flowers during spring and summer, it is a great beach for family visits in the summer and blustery walks during the winter. Easily accessible from the road and car park, the beach is also popular with canoeists, kitesurfers and windsurfers. There is a dog exercise area.
Longniddry Bents is a beach just north of Longniddry it is almost 2 miles in length, which includes Gosford Bay to the east side, and the rockier Seton Sands to the west. Along the beach are the remains of a wall of World War II concrete tank traps erected as protection from any attempted German invasion. Many of which are now hidden in the surrounding sea-grass and sea buckthorn bushes. Longniddry train station is a little over a kilometre from Seton Sands beach.
